So many questions still surround the events of January 6, 2021, but one thing is quite evident - it WAS NOT an attempt to overthrow the government. It was not an “insurrection”. In reality, that was quite evident on that day four years ago. How could an unarmed crowd of people hope to overthrow the US government? More questions arose as videos surfaced of Capital police moving barriers and opening doors to allow people to enter the Capital. In some videos, Capital police appeared to act as tour guides leading people through the Capital. People calmly walking between the velvet ropes in Statutory Hall taking pictures is not how one envisions insurrectionists. However, we cannot deny that some were not there to simply take pictures, but to inflict damage to property and attack the police. Almost immediately, those who had witnessed similar events pointed out there was a real possibility that provocateurs were planted in the crowd to incite the people.
Much has been revealed in the past four years, but only after the Republicans took over the House. The politically motivated, Democrat-led J6 Select Committee revealed -- it was all about politics, getting Donald J. Trump and labeling the whole episode as an “insurrection”. Nancy Pelosi even tried for a second impeachment of President Trump just days from him leaving office!
Chairman Barry Loudermilk of the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight has done a great job digging up the facts. Here are a few examples:
· On March 8, 2024 the Committee released transcripts the Democrats suppressed: Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) released a transcribed interview the January 6 Select Committee conducted with President Trump's former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, which shows President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital.
· DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s decision to decline help from the White House did not end the Trump team’s efforts to secure troops ahead of the protest. When the D.C. mayor declined Trump’s offer of 10,000 troops, Ornato said the White House requested a “quick reaction force” out of the Defense Department in case it was needed.
· However, On January 5, the Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy, placed unprecedented restrictions on DC National Guard Commander Major General William Walker to prevent any movement to the Capitol without Secretary McCarthy’s explicit permission on January 6 and 7.
On January 6, 2021, the outer perimeter on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol was breached by rioters at 12:53pm. The DC National Guard arrived five hours later.
· DC National Guard Adjutant General Aaron Dean: “[Walker] tried to call Secretary McCarthy three times between 2:30 and 5pm. He said, ‘I haven’t heard from him all day.’ When he tried to call his cell phone, it went straight to voicemail.”
· Walker’s General Counsel, Colonel Earl Matthews: “We were seeing the Congress of the United States being overrun, and the Guard – and the Capitol Police, the MPD, they need help. We had people at the D.C. Armory who are able to help, and they’re not moving. They’re not allowed to move.”
· DC National Guard Command Sergeant Major Michael Brooks: “They were ready to go, and they just couldn’t understand why they were still sitting there. Literally sitting on a bus, just waiting to drive to the Capitol and do the best they could do to support Capitol Police.”
· September 20, 2024: “Pentagon leadership prioritized concerns of optics over their duty to protect lives,” said Chairman Loudermilk. “President Trump met with senior Pentagon leaders and directed them to make sure any events on January 6, 2021 were safe. It is very concerning that these Senior Pentagon officials ignored President Trump’s guidance AND misled Congressional Leaders to believe they were doing their job, when they were not. The DoD IG’s report is fundamentally flawed. It does not draw conclusions from the interviews they conducted, but pushes a narrative to keep their hands clean. We have many questions for them, and we will continue to dig until we are satisfied the American people know the truth."

Freedom loving Americans were targeted for simply being in DC and near the US Capital Building. Thousands have been arrested, some fined, some still serving prison sentences and some still imprisoned without a trial. This is not the way the American judicial system is supposed to work! The US Constitution guarantees us rights such as equal justice, a fair and speedy trial before an impartial jury of our peers. Even now the Biden Administration’s DOJ plans to arrest another couple thousand who were in DC on January 6th, 2021! Is this all a continued effort to hamstring the incoming Trump Administration by creating as many ‘wildfires’ as possible?
There are many more, but here are a few examples of Pennsylvanians who were targeted:
· Jim Worthington, owner of the Newtown Athletic Club and the Horsham Athletic Club. His crime? He organized buses that brought around 200 to Washington on that day. An online petition was started calling on businesses, schools and individuals to distance themselves from the clubs.
· Allentown School District suspended middle school Social Studies teacher Jason Moorehead for attending the rally and making social media posts of it. In 2022 they fired him.
· Within days of the January 6th riot, Governor Tom Wolf called on State Senator Doug Mastriano to be “held accountable” for attending the rally.
· Matthew Perna, 37, of Sharpsville was arrested on Jan. 19, 2021, and indicted on Feb. 25, 2021. He admitted to being in the Capital building for 20 minutes, taking pictures and posting to his Facebook page. During his time in the Capital, he did not attack anyone or destroy anything. He was to be sentenced on March 3, 2022. He faced up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He took his own life on February 28, 2022.
Days ago, President Biden awarded the second-highest civilian honor a president can bestow, the Presidential Citizens Medal, to former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS). The duo chaired the J6 Select Committee. Biden’s decision to give these awards cheapens the very significance of the award which is to “honor Americans who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens. “ J6 committee leaders Bernie Thompson and Liz Cheney and the entire J6 Select Committee lied to the American people, withheld evidence and distorted testimony in their attempt to destroy President Donald Trump. Forensic evidence of the data even shows Thompson had deleted material on Jan. 1, 2023, days before the GOP gained majority of the House. None of their actions warrant an award from anyone, let alone the President of the United States!
